Want to let you all know that my birthday was fun filled and thank you for all that remembered! MA and I had a sitter for 4 of the kids (H was in school) for six hours! We had planned on going ziplining, but since the weather was icky, we decided to go shopping. Fun fun fun. We had a terrific lunch, lots of girl time and a great day all around. I'd love to expand, but it's after 10 pm and I'm exhausted. Pics are from lunch, shopping and my cute little glass jar of kitkats that I bought in one of the vending machines. Can you believe you can buy a jar of kit kats? Seriously, 4 little packages in this jar, refrigerated and yummy! Check out MA in the super giant sunglasses. She's such a good sport and styling too!

no zip-lining for me...
MA and I had planned on going zip-lining at the forest adventure place tomorrow for my birthday. Well, the weather has changed to rain and we've decided to postpone until we get a sunny day. It has been raining off and on all day and the place will just be a huge muddy mess. I'm bummed, but we're still taking the kids to the sitter and spending the day in the shopping district instead. Maybe zip-lining will be in the next few weeks. Probably better anyway, since I'm feeling like I'm catching a cold.

what a day!
Today, we decided to go to a cherry blossom festival. Not one of the big ones, but one that was supposed to have 500 trees. MA was kind enough to let us all pile into her van and off we went. Well, maps here are just a bit tricky when the place you want to go is not listed, and the roads all share the same name or none at all. We drove around the town, didn't see it and stopped to ask some workers for directions. They spoke no English, but showed us on the map where we needed to go. We drove in a giant circle and still no festival. We made our second trip around and asked a security guard for directions. He showed us where we needed to go. Now, keep in mind, these folks spoke no English and could have been telling us just about anything. Back we go around. This time we see Japanese pink banners. Woo hoo, we're close! Well, at least we thought so. I mean, those banners had to have just been put up after our first trip through, since we missed them. I mean they still had creases, so they had to be new. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. We follow the NEW banners and see the traffic, and look up the hill at more banners and by now, we're ready to go to a really neat festival. We drive up the hill, get directed by guys with those red light saber thingies and end up where? Right back where we started. Holy freakin cow. We see the parking lot, or at least an area of parking and figure out that this is where we need to be. We go in and are directed into the only parking space that you need to navigate through an obstacle course to get into. MA's van is not exactly small, so this is no easy task, but she's a champ and manages to get into the space. We open the doors, when all of a sudden one of the dear parking guys lets us know we need to move over. Heaven forbid that they can't squeeze one more car in. All that done, we board a bus to the festival. We get up the hill, see that the actual festival is around the size of a large baseball field. A few booths of food and trinkets are there. There are dancers. Super cute elderly locals doing the group dance thing. There was a wrestling ring, but it remained empty and I'm still not sure why it was there. Oh, there was a little area of 2 mini pigs, goats and mini ponies. We grabbed a bite to eat, watched some dancing and were ready to head out on our walk through the blooming trees to the park.

it's just a pain
Today I had a dentist appointment to replace a filling that had fallen out. YIKES. I forgot how much pain a dentist can cause. My face was numb for awhile, but when it wore off: holy freakin cow. I've had a terrible headache ever since. It was weird, the novocaine made me have these little tremors. I was lying back in the chair and all of a sudden, my arm started to twitch, then my thumb, my leg, my butt, my foot. All twitches lasted about 40 seconds each. My face was even twitching by my eye. I've never had that happen before and I'm not real sure I want it happening again. I had originally asked the dentist to give me the gas they give children but he said "we don't have that." So I asked "what do you do for the children?" He replied, "oh, THAT gas, well, we only use it on the kids before we give them the shots". What a liar.

Sunday
We checked out another park today, after church, and all I've got to say is WOW. This park had a gigantic rollerslide! You have to climb up a huge set of steps to get there, but once you do, you get to fly down the slide. We took cardboard to sit on, but still our butts are going to be sore tomorrow. The kids had a great time and so did MA and I. Little A was a bit hesitant after the first time down, but soon grew to love the thrill of it. By far, one of the best parks we've been to here. Can't wait to go back! Here are a few pics:
