Oh to be so carefree! K and H are outside, on the trampoline, with the sprinklers on and having the time of their lives. It's 85 degrees and it's been a long long day, so the boys are enjoying some down time. A is hanging around inside, since he's not a big fan of sprinklers, yet. Mom and dad are also enjoying the comforts of the air conditioning, nice cold beers and a hockey game on the tv. See, my thoughts are, wear the kiddos out with sun and fun, and it's an early evening for them!

H had his 2nd soccer game today. His team lost again, but at least they looked better than last week. H was a STAR! The other team had some HUGE players. They were some tough characters. H stole the ball once and made his way all the way across the field! Daddy had class and had to miss the game, but H was so excited to tell him all about it this afternoon. I wish I could get a decent pic of H playing, but it's so crazy on the field, and K and A absolutely refuse to sit still to watch the game. I spend half the time trying to keep them from running off and begging for snacks from other parents.

I finished our health screening appointments this week to get us cleared to leave the country. Now we just wait. The nurse who conducted the appointments told us that it should be about 6 weeks before we even know if we are approved to accompany C to you know where. Oh please, like I'm going to wait 6 weeks to find out. My plan is to give them a week and start calling to check the status. By the end of 3 weeks, they'll be dying to get me to leave the country. Anyone who knows me knows that there's no way I'm going to wait that long.

Okay, off to get some steaks ready to BBQ and check on those rowdy boys outside. Check in with you all sometime in the next week or so...hopefully.

This week

As much as I've wanted to blog, I just haven't found the time. H turned 7 on April 1. Can you believe he's 7??? Wow, it seems like yesterday he was a toddler. He bought a bionicle set for his birthday. When did toys become so complex? He asked me for help, and I swear, I couldn't understand any of it. It's all picture directions, but it's ridiculously complicated. The thing had around 256 very tiny pieces. Gone are the days when toys just came out of the box and you played with them. Now it's like "oh, I can't wait to play with that some time next week, when I finally get it together." Fun.

The move stuff is starting to come together. We applied for our official passports today, and should have them back in a couple of months. We (the boys and I) got immunizations today. ICK. I had to get 3 shots, Japanese Encephalitis, a HepA and HepB combo and a tetanus. H was lucky and only got the Jap-E. K and A had both a HepA and the Jap-E. H took it like a man, but the smaller two screamed bloody murder. I can't wait to take them back next week for the 2nd round. By the 3rd round, I'll probably have to drag them out of the car. I've got appointments booked daily, sometimes 3 per day. It's really fun around here these days.

Oh, and H's soccer coach is the worst!! He scheduled the first practice, which he said would just be a meeting, for 5:30 pm. I get there at 5:25, after dragging the kiddos across a field and he says "well, I just wanted to see if anyone showed up", no practice today. I could have kicked him. He canceled the 2nd practice, due to the fact it was chilly and a little rain happened earlier in the day. This guy's a piece of work. I'm pretty sure I might have to kick his butt before the season is over. You might end up seeing a video of me beating a soccer coach on youtube. Ha ha.
